Lambourn Using the Gallops
Open seven days a week, twelve months a year
Trainers planning to move to Lambourn to use the gallops on a daily basis are given a tour of the facilities and provided with a Lambourn Training Grounds Information Pack. This includes information on the location of gallops, opening times, Rules and Regulations, health and safety and useful contacts.
Casual users wishing to use the facilities can make an appointment by contacting the Operations Manager. The all-weather facilities are available to casual users, providing the requests are agreed in advance and they have familiarised themselves with the Training Grounds rules and regulations..
Jockey Club Estates charges ’Gallop Fees’ for the use of the training grounds and these are paid by owners, rather than trainers. Each month every trainer completes an online return detailing which horses have used the training grounds and owners are charged accordingly, directly from their account at Weatherbys.
Visiting trainers, permit holders and point-to-point trainers pay on a per visit basis.
Gallop Fees are reviewed annually following consultation with the Lambourn Gallops Committee, which has representation from the trainers.
The Charges for 2024 are as follows:
Gallop Fees (Flat and NH): £160 plus VAT per horse per month.
Casual User Fee: £44 plus VAT per horse per visit.
